CSNABC,
Lots of items on this February newsletter. Please read to the bottom.

February meeting
Ann Stillwater is traveling to the area to present to our group on February 25th with her presentation: School Nurse Second Victim: Medication Errors and Other Traumas
This hour-long presentation was originally presented for the annual conference of the Pennsylvania Association of School Nurses & Practitioners, March 2022. Her presentation has been highly recommended by previous attendees.
Our general membership meeting will be from 5p-5:30p, followed by Ann's presentation at 5:30p at the Bucks County IU #22 in Doylestown.

National Board Certified School Nurse Scholarship
If you are considering getting nationally certified, consider applying for the new scholarship program NBCSN is offering.
Information about this new program can be found at https://nbcsn.org/nbcsn-2025-scholarship-program. NBCSN will award up to 55 scholarships (one per state and US Territory/OSHA) to school nurses who wish to take the NBCSN exam. The application deadline is February 14, 2025 for the Spring and Summer testing windows. Additional opportunities for scholarship monies will be announced as new testing windows open.

Several districts have recently added financial acknowledgement of those with national certification.  If you are looking to get nationally certified and would like to form a study group in the future, we can network through our organization.

Woods Services - PD Day Opportunity
Woods Services is interested in hosting a (FREE) professional development during the day next Fall. A featured topic would be Assessing The NonVerbal Child - Strategies and Techniques, as well as trends they are seeing in the area at the time of presentation.
This does not align with CSNABC's schedule, but I am happy to facilitate interested districts.
If interested- email me at JLeachko@crsd.org ASAP with your fall PD days. If multiple districts are interested on the same day, they would love to develop something in either the morning or afternoon, led by one of their nurse practitioners and medical directors.  Please pass this along to all Nursing Coordinators, even if they are not CSNABC members, as this could be a great opportunity.

Phillies Nurse Night
The first 3500 tickets purchased through the Nurses Night link get a Phillies scrub top:

Our Treasurer, Sheila, is attending with several nurses from CB. If you would like to attend, reach out to her directly at: SHKelly@cbsd.org to organize sitting in the same section/area.

Spring meeting TBD
Arranging presentation by Bucks Dept of Health for April.
