Hello CSNABC members,
I hope you are having a great start to your New Year! Lots of dates + updates below:
Scholarship Application is LIVE!
Please send the following link to your High School nurses for distribution to the School Counselors:
February 25, 5pm - Winter CSNABC meeting + Act 48 Speaker @ BCIU#22 in Doylestown
5pm- General Membership meeting
530pm - Ann Stillwater will be presenting on The School Nurse as Second Victim: Medication Errors and Other Traumas. She is a (retired) School Nurse from the Harrisburg area who has presented on this topic at PASNAP (2022) and has had work published in the Journal of School Nursing. It is very exciting to have her present on this important topic.
Healthcare providers who are emotionally traumatized by mistakes or other adverse events are named second victims (Wu, 2000). The patient is the first victim, and the caregiver who made the mistake is the second victim and also deserves care. School nursing is just beginning to recognize this issue while other health care sub-specialties have more resources and research.
Everyone makes mistakes.
Mistakes are unavoidable. Nurses make mistakes. Doctors make mistakes. We all make mistakes and are not alone.
March 7th, 8pm
Comedy Cabaret - Scholarship Fundraiser @ POCOs in Doylestown.
Save the Date!
March dates aren't listed on their website yet, but please wait to purchase tickets until we send out a link, even if it pops up there, as the website will have general public ticket sales. Only tickets purchased through our link will contribute to our scholarship fund. You do not need to be a CSNABC member to use the link - anyone can join! There will also be a 50/50 that night. Please invite your friends and family for an evening out to support our great cause! We will send it out as soon as Comedy Cabaret provides it to us.
